Jesus is taking back our cities.
Isaiah 55:11. So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me void, But it shall accomplish what I please, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it. Beloved in Christ please allow me to write to you in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ and for His Glory. I want to tell you about a young man who came to our home at S.O.S., when he was about 15 years old sent to us by the court system in Houston. He was supposed to stay at our home for one year. During this time he was gloriously saved and delivered. After about one and a half years under the leadership of the Holy Spirit decided to stay longer, felt God calling him to ministry and wanted to be discipled at the same time. Right around this time he met a young lady in our ministry, ended up doing things outside of God's plan, they had a baby and later were counseled to marry. When they moved back to Houston, we were so disappointed and heart broken. We had higher hopes for them. What we have to believe is that God loves them more than we do and has a plan for them (Jeremiah 29:11). Their marriage went through lots of rough times. Jose, because of false condemnation turned to other things to silence the call. Then, one day at three a.m. he called one of our workers in tears to talk about the voice in him that was speaking louder than the alcohol he was turning to. In fact, he confessed that he found himself preaching at the bars. He called me the next day and made his way back to the men's home. After a few months, he is now in the process of moving his family to Bryan. He enjoys knowing that in spite of his mistakes God still has a call on his life. There are times when God allows things to go a certain way in order to see if we don't just merely quote His word, but truly believe and trust His word! II Chronicles 32:31b God withdrew from him in order to test him, that he may know all that was in his heart.

SOS has done so much for my family and me. I entered the Men's home on April 11, 2001. I only stayed a month, but that month changed me in so many ways. Before entering the home I was on Heroine. I was also using marijuana, alcohol, and cigarettes. I would steal, lie, and do almost anything to get what I wanted when I wanted it. I came from a rough background full of anger and hate. Now, I have accepted Jesus Christ into my heart and I am becoming a new person in Christ. I still have set backs and slip-ups, but it's different now. In the past, I would try to hide my sins and/or lie about them while continuing to do them. I would only have remorse that I was caught. Now when I mess up I ask for forgiveness, I read the word, pray, and try to immediately get back on track. J.J. Ramirez has given me something amazing. He has given me faith in Jesus Christ. J.J. has shown me that the Lord knows everything that I have ever done, but he still loves me and forgives me. J.J. has given me a positive vision for my future. I was a High School drop out, strung out on drugs and alcohol, and committing crimes as I pleased. Now I am a student at Blinn. I took 9 hours in the fall and made a 3.0 GPA. I plan to become an auto-mechanic. I am clean. Now, I don't even use alcohol or cigarettes anymore. I am still very involved in SOS Ministries. I go to Bible Studies, Praise and Worship Services, and Church. I am focusing on trying to be a good husband to my wife and father to my 3 children. I am currently looking for a job in a Christian environment. Please pray for blessings and favor for SOS Ministries. By changing me through Christ, J.J. has taken a violent criminal off of the streets that had the potential to hurt you or your loved ones and changed him into a productive citizen. God works in awesome ways! Thank you J.J. for letting God use you to help others! Rene Barron

Ask of me and I will show you great and awesome things that you know not of.
It was in October and all I could think about was how I wish I could really bless the women and girls this Christmas, and show them how precious they are to their Heavenly Father. So, I began to pray for their Christmas gifts. As December was nearing, I got a call from my friend Shelaine. She invited me to go with her to a teaching luncheon in Houston. I was delighted to go. She had also invited her friend Amy to come along! While on the way, I had the privilege of hearing Amy's testimony; how she was selling make-up for Mary Kay (making large amounts of money) and God directed her to give up her job because He had something different for her to do, and in obedience to her Heavenly Father she was willing to do that!
On Sunday after church there Amy was with 6 large crates full of the finest of all that Mary Kay has, as gifts for our Ladies! As I shared this story with my friend Shirley, she immediately said let me buy the gift bags. I got another call that same week from my friend Chris, from North View Baptist Church! She wanted to know if her church could again have an angel tree using our teen girls as the angels! Again Elaine and Mike wanted to bless our ladies class, by throwing an extravagant party for them at their house as their gift to us! My friends Fred and Jane had a party at their house as a gift from JESUS for our teen girls class! The Business Women's Bible class from First Baptist, Bryan bought gifts for a family; other friends also sponsored other children and families! I also got a call from a friend who wanted to know if I had a computer, because God had placed it on her heart to buy me one.
With all that I am, I want to say "thank you" to all of you who give so generously to "the least of these." Carmen Sifuentez
