Jesus is taking back our cities.

"Therefore my brethren be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord" (I Corinthians 15:58).
Beloved,
I praise God for the many ways He allows scriptures like this to become a reality. A young man recently wrote me from prison. His prison time was a result of his involvement in gangs, drugs and all sorts of crazy things at a very young age. I would see him from time to time as I ministered on the streets. I did not see him for a while. Then, one day he called me. He asked if I would come to his house and talk. I gladly went to share the gospel and speak words of life to him.
I had not seen or heard from him until the recent letter he wrote. In the letter, he reminded me of the words I had shared with him by quoting almost word for word what I had said. I was extremely blessed that he had remembered what I had said after all these years. However, I was not surprised because the Word of God states that the, "...Holy spirit would bring all things to our remembrance" (John 14:26). As I read the letter, I could sense his brokenness and his genuine desire to change.
On another occasion, a young man that I had witnessed to when he was 13 0r 14 recently came looking for me. At the time I spoke with him, I thought that he had rejected everything I said. Now 10 years later, as he was groping with many issues and struggling with various tormenting thoughts, the Holy Spirit reminded him of our conversation. He told me, "I had to find you." He eventually made his way to my office and I was able to lead him in a sinners prayer. What an awesome privilege when the fruit of your labor comes knocking on your door!
"How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach unless they are sent? As it is written: How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace, who bring glad tidings of good things!" (Romans 10:14-15).
For His Glory,
J. J. Ramirez

My name is Dolores Gonzales and I would like to share my testimony. I started drinking and drugging at the age of 13. I was so far in sin that the only thing I looked forward to was getting high and drunk. For almost a year and a half I can remember my daughter Krystal Gonzales going to SOS ministries every Thursday and Friday, coming home crying and saying she had prayed for us to stop drinking and drugging. I remember feeling bad and thinking what kind of a mother am I. I wasn't happy, my marriage was falling apart and my family was going down hill fast. Finally, one day after drinking and drugging my husband and I had a big fight and I left the house. When I returned the next day, he was gone. In my mind it was his fault because he couldn't handle it and we were not going to work it out. It wasn't until maybe a month later I went to see a play called "The Messiah" at Covenant Church that I was saved. I really didn't understand what was going on, I just knew I couldn't keep living the way I was living. I knew there was a God, I just didn't think he could help me. I thought I was destined to live that way forever. I understand now that I was not dead to the world because sin was dwelling inside of me. Romans 7:15 states, "what I do I do not understand for I do not do what I want, but I do what I hate." I understand now that I am dead to the world because I have Jesus Christ in me. Romans 8:2 says, "For the law of the spirit of life in Christ Jesus has freed me the law of sin and death." If Jesus Christ can free me from the bondage of sin, then he can free anyone who asks. SOS ministries is a very important part of my life. I attend the women's bible study with Carmen Sifuentez and am very grateful for the support I get there. Carmen, along with the SOS ministries has been a support group for my daughter and I. My husband and I have also started going to Thursday bible study with JJ Ramirez. I thank God for SOS ministries. It gives hope to kids and families and it encourages them to find the reality of a living faith in Jesus Christ. The blessings that Jesus Christ has given my family and I are unbelievable. We have been blessed with qualifying for a new home, we go to church as a family, and we have more love towards one another. The best blessing of all is my children have all begun to know Jesus Christ and they don't have to live by the standards of the world as I did.

Everybody's talking... About Tuesday night women's Bible study that is. Here is what some of the ladies have to say: "This ministry has helped me with women's Bible study. I've been coming for about six months now and feel so comfortable with these great women I've met! Carmen is such a Godly influence to me, she has helped me to stay focused on God and all the things He can and will do for me, my marriage, my family, and everything else in my life! My walk and my faith have gotten stronger and I've become more obedient to Christ. I have been truly blessed to be part of this group!" (Letisha) "Thank You Jesus! For the women in this Bible study. Thank you for the caring, sharing, and the coming together to pray for one another. Thank you for the opportunity to learn from your Word, then going out and witnessing to others. Bless them everyone! (Frances) We invite all women to join us at the Maxwell Center (200 S. Texas Ave. Campus behind First Baptist Church Bryan) Tuesday evenings at 7pm for a special time of prayer, fellowship, encouragement, and study of God's word, please come. We would like to give a big thank you to Mr. Tom Archer, General Manager at Shipley Do-Nut Shop in Bryan, for providing doughnuts for the Save Our Streets Ministries service on Friday nights.
We wrote letters and distributed them out in order to get donations. When it came to the final letter I was praying real hard and was a little discouraged because so far no one offered help up front. Mr. Archer made me cry with what he told me. He let me know that he was all for what Save Our Streets Ministries stood for and he would be happy to provide doughnuts for our Friday night services. We were so relieved and knew that was the favor of God working for the ministry. The kids were very appreciative and even stated they would be returning if we would be serving doughnuts. We thank God for people like Mr. Archer who is willing to give back to the community. This act of kindness proves to the kids that people really do care what happens to them.
