Mission Statement

Providing alternative youth activities during idle summer hours The Lord is now expanding the ministry by bringing inquiries and opportunities for SOS to establish a Road Ministry as well as opportunities to bring gang awareness to public servants and the general public through seminars. 

FRIDAY NIGHT WORSHIP SERVICE - Large group praise and worship service is held on Friday nights. About 100 teenagers and adults come each week to sing praises and listen to the Word of God.

BASKETBALL OUTREACH - We hold a tournament once a year with trophies awarded to winning teams. Part of the requirements to enter is to listen to a presentation by J.J. We usually have about 120 at risk youths enter this tournament.

JOB PROGRAM - Men coming out of jail receive training in work ethics and learn how to earn money honestly. Jobs through area businesses are created for these men. Jobs are created for those who feel a call to ministry as well. There is also a lawn service and landscaping business that provides work for men and also generates revenue for the ministry.

SCHOOL MINISTRY - Local schools invite SOS Ministries to counsel one-on-one with students onsite. General assemblies are held for kids in which real-life issues are discussed.

JAIL MINISTRY - Every Wednesday, SOS Ministries goes to the jails and boot camp in Bryan.

YOUNG MEN'S MINISTRY HOME - A ministry home welcomes men coming out of gangs, drug addiction, or bad home situations. We encourage the young men to find a relationship with Jesus Christ. Daily feeding of the Word of God is a focus of the home.

YOUNG LADIES MINISTRY - (through Carmen Sifuentez) including evangelism, prayer meetings, bible studies and a 24 hour availability to any who need encouragement and help.

YOUNG MEN'S MINISTRY - including street evangelism to drug dealers, addicts and gang members; prayer meetings involving rival gang leadership, and a 24 hour availability to any who need encouragement and help.

BUS MINISTRY - A bus ministry resulting from the need for transportation to the Bible studies on Thursday nights and the worship service on Friday nights.

CHILDREN'S MINISTRY - About 150 children from 5 to 11 years old attend these meetings each Thursday night. This began as a way to help the teens be able to attend the meetings when they were taking care of their younger siblings.

NURSERY MINISTRY - We provide care for 0 to 5 years old children during Thursday night bible study and Friday night praise and worship service. We begin teaching them about Jesus even at this young age.

ROAD MINISTRY - Opportunities to speak in many of the area churches of various denominations about what life is really like on the streets and the work they are doing among the youth.

COUPLES CLASS - J.J. teaches young couples about family and marriage and how centering them around a relationship with Jesus Christ can bring the respect and love we all seek in our relationships.

CAMPING TRIP - This is a yearly event where S.O.S takes a group of 75 teenagers camping. Activities include praise and worship, teaching, bible study, relay games, fishing and overall outdoor fun. It's a great opportunity for quality time with the kids and to just have good food and good fun.

SOS Ministries has a volunteer staff that works around the clock to help break the captives free from the bondages of the only life they have every known.
